Tokyo Skytree, with its full height of 634 metres, is the tallest structure in Japan. Although it is primarily used as a broadcasting and radio tower, the tower is a must-go for tourists visiting Tokyo. With its abundance of unique shops, restaurants and attractions, it is a popular spot amongst the Japanese as well. Visitors can spend the whole day visiting the many shops and attractions or spend part of the day and afterwards, relax at the planetarium and the aquarium close by.

Tokyo Skytree is a great way for people to take in a breathtaking view of Tokyo. With its two observation decks, Tembo Deck (at 350 meters) and the Tembo Gallery (at 450 meters), it boasts the highest observation in Japan.

At 350 meters high, visitors can take breathtaking photos of Tokyo (and the Kanto region). It is separated into three floors. Visitors can see the city from a 360 degree panoramic view on the top floor, dine and shop in the Musashi Sky Restaurant and souvenirs shops on the middle floor, and relax in the cafe on the lowest floor. Families and friends will be able to enjoy sipping a cup of coffee while relaxing and gazing at the view.

Visitors can take the second set of elevators to the Tembo Gallery, which is a sloped spiral ramp circling around the tower. At 450 meters high, it is “the world’s highest skywalk” to date and offers an outstanding view of not just the city, but the whole Kanto region. Be awed by the mesmerising 3D panoramic view of the hustling and bustling city of Tokyo.

TOKYO SOLAMACHI

Considered a popular date spot for couples, Tokyo Solamachi has many Tokyo Skytree themed shops and restaurants. After taking in the views at the observation decks, visitors can relax, dine, and buy souvenirs at the 300+ shops. It also has free wifi and a currency exchange service centre making it the perfect place to take a small rest after taking in the magnificent view from the two observation decks. Tourists are able to shop and be fascinated by unique stores such as the Ganso Shokuhin Sample Shop (元祖食品サンプル屋), which has artistic food sample replicas.

TENKU PLANETARIUM IN TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN

With hourly shows from 9:00 to 21:00 and equipped with state-of-the-art graphics and sound system, it is a good way to relax with family, friends, and loved ones. There are even “healing” themed shows where, along with the graphics and sound system, visitors can experience different aromas. A must for couples, the planetarium will take the two on a romantic journey without leaving the area. For families, parents will be able to relax to the beautiful images and sounds while young ones can be fascinated and appreciate the unknowns of outer space.

TOKYO SKYTREE SUMIDA AQUARIUM

Although, Sumida Aquarium is smaller than most of the other aquariums in Japan, it does a great job at recreating the habitat and environment of its marine animals. It has many zones including “Cradle of Life”: Memories of a Water, where numerous jellyfish become the spotlight of the show, and also a zone called Animals Enjoying Water, where visitors can see penguins and fur seals splash and play around in the water. The Penguin Cafe provides visitors with light meals, desserts and drinks at seats close to the penguins and fur seals. Just watching the penguins play will, without a doubt, calm the nerves of everyone after the sensational experience the other facilities has to offer.

Take the Ginza Line from Ueno Station to Asakusa Station (appr. 5 minutes) →Take the Tobu SKYTREE Line from Asakusa Station to Tokyo Skytree Station (appr. 3 minutes) →Walk to Tokyo Skytree

BY SHUTTLE BUS:
There is a convenient shuttle bus called Skytree Shuttle. It offers direct bus access to Tokyo Skytree from various places such as: Ueno/Asakusa, Tokyo Station, Haneda Airport, Tokyo Disney Resort, Odaiba, and Wako/Shiki (Saitama).
