No.1 SHIRAITO WATERFALL
Shiraito Waterfall is the icon of Karuizawa and it has 3 meter high and 70 meter wide and cliff in thin white streams. This waterfall is not originally from river but spring water.
Shiraito means ‘White Thread’ because the waterfall looks like hanging white threads. Enjoy the fresh air and water mist from the waterfall!

No.2 ONIOSHIDASHI PARK
Onioshidashi Park is a impressive spot to view the landscape of volcanic rocks. This natural park was created with enormous stream of magma after the huge eruption of the Mt. Asama in 1783. Onioshidashi means ‘demon pushed out the lava in the crater’ because local people looked like that who saw the eruption.
There is a temple at the top of the volcano. Also, you can see nice view of Karuizawa town and Mt. Asama, and unique spectacular panoramic view that only you can see here. Highly recommend you if you are staying around this area. It’s interesting spot!

Kumobaike is a beautiful pond in Karuizawa and it’s nice to hike around with enjoying insane views from different angles. Some tourists call it Swan Lake because many swans had visited this pond to rest their wings and relax before.
This pond becomes more popular in autumn season. You can see specular reflections in the water of the pond with reflected beautiful autumn leaves. It’s captivating beauty!

Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza Street is the main street of Karuizawa and well known for that it has many attractive old shops. There are traditional crafts shops, souvenir shops, fashion shops, food stands and restaurants.
The Mikado coffee was established in 1948 and this little cute coffee shop is famous for local people. The most popular menu of this cafe is Mocha ice cream! It’s good place to rest after shopping.

Sezon Museum of Modern Art was established in 1962, Tokyo at first and moved to Karuizawa in 1981.
