Hayao Miyazaki is a film director of Studio Ghibli, which is known for producing masterpieces such as “My Neighbor Totoro”, “Princess Mononoke”, “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind”, and “Castle in the Sky”. “Shiro-Hige’s (white beard’s) Cream Puff Factory” is the only café where you can eat cream puffs officially approved by the Ghibli Studio, and it is located in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo.

The Setagaya Daita Station of the Odakyu Line is the nearest train stop to the café. After getting off the train, it is about 10 minute walk through a residential area. Then you see the café nestled quietly in surrounding greenery and marked with a signboard of “My Neighbor Totoro” at the front.

“Totoro Cream Puff” offers various flavors, and assortment varies by season, too. The chocolate decoration on top of Totoro’s head changes, depending on the flavor of the cream filling. They are very cute, and it makes you feel better just by looking at them.

Because they are so cute, you may hesitate to eat it, but the taste is superb, too. Each type of cream inside the puff is very rich as well as filling, including solid fruits such as peach or chestnut.
